Week 1 Favorite Place: Vichy, France

I got the opportunity to study abroad in Vichy, France, in the summer of 2013, and that experience was so eye opening for me! This is a picture of the Allier River I took. The river was only a few minutes walk from my school, CAVILAM. I can't wait to go back to visit Vichy sometime in my future.

  1. What a beautiful picture, Alissa - it's wonderful! Someone else mentioned Vichy as a favorite place this week, but I have lost track of which people go with which places! Of course France is a great place to visit... and a great place for stories, too. There is two French units in the Europe module for this class (Margaret of Navarre's Heptameron and the fables of La Fontaine), and of course there is so much more too, with writers like Perrault and Madame D'Aulnoy, along with great folktale traditions like the wonderful stories of Reynard the fox and on and on. Maybe you will even want to explore a French topic as your project for this class... there are so many possibilities!
